Stalking Wildlife

I was once coming toward a rabbit. The wind was blowing my scent toward the rabbit, and the rabbit leaped away. This is because the wind is carrying molecules that fall of of my clothing and carries them to the rabbit. The rabbit catches my scent and knows that I am near. If you approach a rabbit to where its scent is being carried toward you, then it will not run unless it sees or hears you. For example, I was walking toward a rabbit softly, with the wind blowing toward my face. The rabbit continued to eat peacefully.

When stalking let small and frightened animals find a place where they feel secure before trying to get close up to them. I once waited for a small rabbit to crawl behind a door. I got so close to him that I could have reached out and touched him!
